A glowing mustard ochre orb sits at the centre of a bleared oxblood red, burnt sienna and warm black ink mass, marked with scratched line work and wax drips on a bone-white ground.

That yellow orb came first. The dark greens, the red washing in from the edges, all of it I built around it, trying to keep it there. It feels like something trying to glow under bad conditions.
